How it works
Some links on our site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.
What it doesn’t change
Commission never decides our picks. We choose a Good, Better and Best option in each guide on value, specifications, reliability and what real buyers say. If a retailer without an affiliate programme has the better price, we link to that retailer anyway and say so. Many of South Africa’s biggest retailers, including Takealot, don’t run a public affiliate programme, so a lot of our links earn us nothing.
How you can tell
Every guide carries a disclosure line near the top. Links that can earn us commission are marked, and links that don’t are marked as well. On social media we label posts with affiliate links using #AD, in line with the Advertising Regulatory Board’s Social Media Code.
Free products
If a brand ever lends or gives us a product to test, we’ll say so on the page. Getting a product free doesn’t buy a good review.
